Ground-breaking streaming partnership for McDonald’s Men’s NSW Premier Cricket

In a three-year agreement with Cricket NSW, InteractSport will produce multi-camera broadcasts of Premier Cricket matches and – in what is believed to be a first for Australian cricket – distribute CNSW’s Premier Cricket media rights.

Coverage will initially focus on the dynamic Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup, with a series of upcoming matches to be streamed on the Daily Telegraph website, starting this Sunday with St George vs Sutherland from 2.30pm at Hurstville Oval.

The production will include commentary, instant replays and full match graphics.

Cricket NSW CEO Lee Germon said the new streaming partnership highlighted the important role Premier Cricket played as part of the foundation which produced some of the best male and female cricketers in the world.

“McDonald’s Men’s and Women’s NSW Premier Cricket is a central building block which contributes to the success of NSW and Australian teams,” Mr Germon said.

“NSW regularly provides more than 35 percent of Australia’s cricketers and with the current Men’s Test team more than half the players are from NSW. Every one of those players has come through Premier Cricket.

“This new partnership will showcase more of the current and emerging talent in NSW.

“We also thank McDonald’s and Kingsgrove Sports for their ongoing support of Premier Cricket and their commitment to growing the game.”

InteractSport CEO Sam Taylor hailed the deal as a major milestone for cricket in Australia, with the combination of professional coverage and media rights partnerships symbolising the future of the sport.

“Previously this level of investment was limited to the very top tier of cricket, but due to advances in technology driven by our team at InteractSport and the willingness of forward thinking cricket organisations such as Cricket NSW, we’re now able to help put Premier cricket on the centre stage”

“We’ve already attracted over 125,000 unique viewers to our live streams and match centres this season in Australia and working with Cricket NSW and media mastheads like the Daily Telegraph will only serve to strengthen that.  This is great news for a variety of cricket stakeholders, particularly including players, clubs, fans and commercial partners.

“This signals a real change in the cricket match day experience in Australia, and I’d like to thank Cricket NSW for recognising this opportunity and for driving it forward with us.”

InteractSport has already been working closely with McDonald’s Men’s Premier Cricket clubs, with  a number already streaming regular games through a dedicated Match Centre on the McDonald’s NSW Men’s Premier Cricket website.

Over 300 days of Premier Cricket will be live streamed on the Match Centre each season, captured by InteractSport’s single camera “FrogBox” live streaming solution and overlayed by broadcast graphics.

The coverage includes:

•            Highlight clips of key moments from each match including 4s, 6s and wickets

•            Full match replays available on-demand

•            Individual match fixtures & scorecards

•            Individual match ball by ball text commentary

•            Individual match insights, such as ‘the Worm’ and ‘the Manhattan’

There will also be a weekly ‘around the grounds’ highlights package produced and distributed through Cricket NSW’s digital and social channels.

The Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup matches to be live streamed on the Daily Telegraph and NSW News Local websites over the coming weeks include:

•            22 Nov St George v Sutherland from Hurstville Oval – 2.30pm start
